AU and NZ get in on Star Wars: The Old Republic testing

Despite the game's lack of official release date for Oceania, some lucky Australian and New Zealand fans are getting their feet in the Star Wars: The Old Republic door.

BioWare sent a small batch of Antipodean invites overnight as part of a test of its California data centre; the closest continental US Internet hub.

"Data from this test will be used to inform decisions about the launch of the game in Oceanic regions," community manager Allison Berryman said in a forum post.

"We currently have no updates regarding the launch of the game in these or other territories, but will provide information as it becomes available," she added, so don't get your hopes up just yet.

All invites have been sent, so if you didn't get one, check your spam filter, and then give up.

While BioWare has shied away from committing to a local retail launch or server centre, it has indicated it won't region lock the game.

The Old Republic will launch in Europe and the US in December.

Thanks, Massively.
