Asura's Wrath reception as expected for developer

The President of Asura's Wrath developer CyberConnect2 has said the reaction and reception to the game has been as expected, with the game widely being one people either love or hate.

Speaking to Joystiq CyberConnect2's Hiroshi Matsuyama spoke briefly on how he felt about the game's solid sales and critical reception.

"It's only been a month since it's been out," Matsuyama noted, not taking its early success for granted.

"Obviously, it was a challenge to create something new. And when you try to do that, obviously the people that get it will enjoy it. But for people where the game doesn't fit their expectations, they're not going to jump up as much."

Asura's Wrath is interesting as in many ways it's more like an interactive anime than a video game. It's hilarious, ridiculous and stupid in all the best ways - as well as pretty damn fun. Brenna loved it.

Hopefully Capcom feel as good about its performance as Matsuyama does.
