Arno likes to spout highbrow one-liners in Assassin's Creed Unity

Arno Victor Dorian is the latest bane to the Templars in Assassin's Creed Unity, and according to single-player script writer Travis Stout, the blueblood can rather ostentatious.

Stout said Arno’s family is a very old one and have been "Assassins for a very long time." He also provided a personality background for him as well.

“He is a very driven young man," he said. "He is haunted by mistakes in his past or perceived mistakes, that he feels he must atone for. He is very devoted to the Assassin Order as an ideal but, at the same time, he is not as impressed with the weight of the long mystical tradition and ancient rhetoric as some of the other Assassins.

"He likes to think for himself and make his own decisions. He isn’t the type of person who will believe something just because someone tells it to him.”

Arno is also well-educated and due to be raised in a noble household, he was tutored and surrounded by books.

"He has a habit of quoting the classics and tends to use humor to deflect when he is emotionally vulnerable, like a lot of people do I think," stout continued.

"We very much wanted him to not be the sort of grizzled bad-ass spouting one-liners that you see in a lot of action movies. We wanted him to feel like an actual person.”

Stout, who has been with Ubisoft for about a year, previously lent his writing talents to table-top games like Dungeons and Dragons and World of Darkness.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released worldwide on October 28 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
