Assassin's Creed has finally produced a new short film, and it's got some impressive talent on board.

The Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore and cult-favourite musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie are behind the short.

We haven't heard the news from Ubisoft directly; it was broken by a San Diego Comic-Con panel description for an Assassin's Creed: Unity demo and Q&A on July 25.

"Learn about how the blockbuster Assassin's Creed franchise has been re-imagined for the next generation of gaming. Meet mysterious Arno, the new hero in Assassin's Creed Unity, learn more details about the game, and be the first to hear about new announcements for the Assassin's Creed franchise! Rob Zombie and Tony Moore (The Walking Dead co-creator) will be debut an animated short inspired by Assassin's Creed Unity. Meet and ask questions from the team behind Assassin's Creed Unity."

No word on when everyone else will get to see the movie.

Assassin's Creed is Ubisoft's flagship transmedia property and the publisher guards it closely, working internally and with external creatives to build the canon

So far, the series has spawned a number of excellent shorts - Lineage, Embers and Ascendance - and there's an upcoming feature film starring Michael Fassbender.

Assassin's Creed: Unity is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in October. We're expecting to hear about a 2015 Assassin's Creed game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 soon.
