Assassin's Creed: Origins video introduces you to the Order of the Ancients and war elephants

This new Assassin's Creed: Origins video takes a look at the Order of the Ancients.

Bayek’s enemy in Assassin's Creed: Origins is the Order of the Ancients, and the primary focus is on the group in this new gameplay trailer, captured in 4K.

Obviously, it the video won't display in 4K unless you have a nice screen and click on the video's 2160p option.

The order is basically a secret society within Egypt compromised of some very powerful people who are also rather evil. The Templar society is in its infancy it seems, as this shadowy group has been the main antagonist throughout the franchise.

According to the description of the group, these high power political and social figures will do "anything to gain control," and of course they are fond of money. As is always the case with villains.

These horrible people love stepping on the lower class, killing anyone who gets in their way, blackmailing priestesses, and in general poisoning the major powers in the land with their influence. Not even the Pharaoh is immune, and neither Rome nor Greece is safe as the Order's reach is very long. Things never change, it seems.

In the video, you also get a look at those who wish to stop the Order of the Ancients and bring a sense of stability back to Egypt. War elephants are also shown in the video. While it would be nice to ride these creatures into battle, going by the video alone it seems as though we'll just be killing the poor beasts. We'll surely find out more when Assassin's Creed: Origins releases on October 27 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Anyway, give the video a watch. It's rather enjoyable, especially if you're looking forward to the game.

Speaking of which, if you're heading to EGX 2017 next weekend, stop by the Ubisoft booth and give Assassin's Creed: Origins a try on either Xbox One X or PC.

It's the perfect opportunity to get hands on with the game before release, not to mention Xbox One X before November rolls around.
