Assassin's Creed Origins gets new quest, Heka chest items and more free content alongside The Hidden Ones expansion

Assassin's Creed Origins is going to have a busy month.

Assassin's Creed Origins gets its fist expansion pack, The Hidden Ones, sometime during January.

As previously reported, The Hidden Ones expansion adds a whole new region to Assassin's Creed Origins. It raises the level cap from 45 to 50, so you'll be able to make Bayek even tougher as you explore the new story, which is set several years after the main game and has us going toe-to-toe with an occupying Roman force.

The Hidden Ones is included as part of the Assassin's Creed Origins season pass. We don't have a solid date yet, but Ubisoft is highlighting the expansion along with the details of what else is happening in January.

For starters, there'll be a new title update for Assassin's Creed Origins released alongside The Hidden Ones. The patch will increase the Heka Chest loot pool with items from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator and Wacky packs. This gives players another free route to collecting rare loot. The update will also allow Bayek to sell outfits at Weaver shops, and add one free quest.

Also sometime in January all players will be able to pick up the two weapons unlocked as a result of Assassin's Creed Origins community challenges - Harlequin and Chop-chop - using Ubisoft Play points. The Warden's Oath, a new outfit, will also be added to the available Ubisoft Club rewards.

No new Assassin's Creed Origins events are inbound, unfortunately, but you can tackle the Anubis Trials of the Gods battle on January 9-16, and face off against the Sobek Trials of the God battle on January 23-30. Presumably the third one will cycle around in February.

Finally, there'll be two new DLC packs of weapons. The Almighty Pack drops January 16, while the For Honor Pack brings even more historical confusion to Assassin's Creed Origins on January 30.
