Assassin's Creed Origins download size revealed by the Xbox Store

The upcoming assassination adventures in Egypt look pretty sizable, but now we've got a file size to go along with that.

Assassin's Creed Origins is looking pretty interesting and like a rather expansive open world, and it's got a hefty old file size to go along with that as revealed by the official Xbox Store.

The store lists the game as being approximately 42.3 gigabytes to download. That means that the physical version is likely well on its way to filling up a dual layer blu-ray disc - those run at 50 gigabytes each. It also makes for a fairly hefty download for digital fans.

That might sound like a lot, but Forza Motorsport 7 has just launched with a day-one patch that runs a ludicrous 50 gigabytes. By comparison, this initial download for Assassin's Creed Origins seems tame.

Assassin's Creed Origins has been in the works for a while now, and has been a secret for most of that time. Indeed, even the voice of protagonist Bayek didn't initially know what he was auditioning for!

Assassin’s Creed Origins is out for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 27 - not long to wait now.
