Oscar winner Marion Cotillard signs on for Assassin's Creed film - report

Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard has signed on to star in the Assassin's Creed film, according to a Deadline report.

The Paris-born Cotillard won the award for her portrayal of Édith Piaf in the 2007 film La Vie en Rose.

She also starred as Mal, the wife of Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) in Inception, and as Miranda in The Dark Knight Rises.

According to the Deadline report, Cotillard will reunite with MacBeth director Justin Kurzel and co-star Michael Fassbender for the December 21, 2016 film.

Her role in the film is currently unknown.

As previously reported, the Assassin's Creed film will begin production this fall.
