Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood PC will not use always-on DRM

Ubisoft has clarified its DRM plans for the PC release of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and it's good news.

Blue's News spotted a tweet from Ubisoft's Gabe Graziani explaining last week's mysterious statement that the game would require a login.

"Once after install... then offline play will be available to you," he said.

Graziani's comment has been confirmed by Ubisoft. Log in at install, and Bob's your uncle from then on.

Ubisoft's original, ambiguous statement said the game supported an offline single player mode "after an initial login", which caused anxiety that an internet connection would be required every time the game was launched.

Ubi had issued the statement after players noticed mixed messages in the game's promotional materials.
