Ascend: The New Gods dev approached by Microsoft to make F2P game that "doesn't suck"

Ascend: The New Gods developer Signal Studios has stated it was approached by Microsoft to make its Xbox F2P stand out from the pack, by ensuring it didn't suck.

Destructoid reports that the game's art director Brandon Gillam - speaking at PAX East - said that Microsoft wanted a free title that "doesn't suck", which suggests the company has a dim view of the freemium and truly F2P market today.

The Xbox 360 - and allegedly Xbox 720 - game is currently accepting closed beta registrations now. If you want in you can submit your lot here.
