Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel scores R18+ rating in Australia

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel has been named as Australia's third R18+ rated video game.

As with both previous entrants to the category - Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge and Spartacus Legends - the Visceral Games-developed co-op title was pushed into the newly-established tier by "high impact violence".

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel launches in Australia on March 28, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It's going almost head to head with arguable rival Gears of War: Judgment, which is rated MA15+.

Australia brought its long-awaited adults only video games rating category into effect on January 1. Mortal Kombat and Left 4 Dead 2 are in the running to be re-classified as R18+.
