Armored Core: Verdict Day headed west

Namco Bandai has confirmed a North American, European and Australasian release for Armored Core: Verdict Day.

The From Software mech sim was announced last week, but at that point, a western publisher had not been confirmed. It hits Japan in September but has not been dated for the west beyond a 2013 launch, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Verdict Day has players forming squads of up to 20 members, joining in-game factions, and fighting to hold territory in a persistent online multiplayer mode.

Solo players haven't been forgotten; you'll be able to create and recruit AI squaddies if you prefer to play alone. Those who do play well with others will benefit from a new matchmaking system.

Also in multiplayer, Operator Mode returns, so one player cna take strategic control of the battlefield, but it has been expanded to single-player mode, too, so you can take command of an army of AI-controlled mechs in what is being described as a real-time strategic mode.

You can carry over save data from Armored Core V, and add to existing customisations with new guns, armor pieces, shields and boosters. Customisation has been optimised in some wya, but details weren't given.

Anyway, have some screenshots.
