Apex Legends' latest update lets you yeet a Mozambique
Apex Legends players can now properly express disgust at the battle royale's most maligned weapon.
The Mozambique, a three-round shotgun pistol with all the stopping power of a cough, has long been considered the trashiest weapon in Apex Legends. Bare fists are generally more reliable. The relentless pinging of "Mozambique here" soundtracks every drop. But against calls for buffs or alterations, Respawn held its ground - sometimes, weapons are allowed to be bad.
The developer isn't without a sense of humour. Senior designer Sean Slayback famously claimed that Respawn is happy to keep "enjoying the memes" on Reddit earlier this year. Now, Respawn is adding a joke of its own to the pile.
Most guns in Apex Legends drop with an uninspiring thud. Standard stuff. But trading out a Mozambique as of this week sees your legend pitching the shotgun straight out of the park in a hateful rage. A satisfying end to what might be whole minutes of trying to dump the game's worst weapon.

It looks like it's gone down a treat with fans. Anger over the humble Moze has simmered since launch, replaced with an appreciation letting just one gun be a complete joke.
Yeeting a Moze across the map is just a small part of Apex Legends' Season 2 update. A new Limited Time Mode and streamlined Battle Pass hope to make up for a wholly underwhelming first season.
