Anthem "service is currently unavailable" errors blight launch [UPDATE]

Anthem is finally out in the wild, and the server issues keeping folks from jumping in seem to have been fixed.

EA has fixed server issue plaguing Anthem players. The game released today for EA Origin and Origin Access users, and things got off to a rocky start.

Basically, the servers were shutdown due to capacity errors. Now, it seems everything is back up and running according to EA.

Original story follows.

Original story

Anthem released today for those with EA/ Origin Access, but the servers have been shut down due to capacity errors. Players haven't been able to get past the title screen and are instead met with a message saying that Anthem services are currently unavailable.

EA has tweeted to say that it is aware of problems and the team are working to get the servers back online.

Both Anthem demo sessions had severe server capacity issues, hindering the experience for a number of players. Players were either caught in a loading loop or were booted out of the game suddenly.

Fans are understandably frustrated that the same errors have reappeared at launch. BioWare had stated that it didn't under-plan server capacity during the Anthem demo, but it seems history is repeating itself.

We'll keep you updated with any progress and you'll hopefully be able to get back into the game soon.
