If you were hoping to fool the clock to get ahead in the next Animal Crossing, Nintendo has other plans. Producer Higashi Nogami confirmed in an interview that there would be no cloud saves due to the potential for manipulating time, an act the team seems well aware of.

Nogami, in an interview with French games outlet Gamekult, says Animal Crossing: New Horizons won't be compatible with using the internet to back up your games.

"New Horizons will not be compatible with cloud backup to avoid manipulating time, which remains one of the founding concepts of the series," says Nogami (via Google Translate).
