Animal Crossing New Horizons: What Fruits Can You Get On Your Island?
When you start up in Animal Crossing New Horizons you'll be given a certain type of fruit that will grow on your island. Here are the options.
Fruit has been an important part of the Animal Crossing series for a while now, and Animal Crossing New Horizons is no exception. At the start of the game you'll be given a fruit which will grow on your island. You only get one type which will grow naturally on your island, so it becomes a defining feature over time. You cannot choose which fruit you get, as they are randomly assigned and you will need to find the other fruits if you want to grow them. Here's everything you need to know.

Fruits List
There are multiple different fruits featured in Animal Crossing New Horizons. We haven't encountered all of them so far, but here's what we've found:
- Apples
- Peaches
- Pears
- Cherries
- Coconuts
- Oranges
How to Find Other Types of Fruit
To find other kinds of fruit in Animal Crossing New Horizons you will need to visit other people's islands. You can either visit deserted islands (more on that here), or other players' islands. You'll occasionally find a fruit you don't have, make sure you collect it and head home.
Collecting and Selling Fruit
The easiest way to collect fruit is to shake trees. Just walk up to a fruit tree and press 'A'. You'll shake the tree, dropping the fruits to the ground. Pick them up and watch out for wasps! Take the fruit to Timmy and you'll earn some Bells.
What Happens if You Eat Fruit?
Eating fruit will add a number to the top left of the screen. This number gives you extra strength in one of your hits. You can use this to clear rocks (more on that here).
How to Get a Different Fruit at the Start of the Game
At the start of Animal Crossing New Horizons you will be assigned a fruit at random. This cannot be changed, so if you want a different fruit you'll need to delete your save and start again. More info on that in this guide.
