Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wedding Season: How to get Heart Crystals for wedding-themed furniture rewards

Wedding Season has started in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so let's take a look at everything that's coming in June's update.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wedding event takes place from June 1- 30 and you'll be able to visit Harv's island to take some romantic shots of Reese and Cyrus, an in-game married couple, in exchange for Heart Crystals which you swap for some cool rewards.

You'll also be able to hold wedding and anniversary celebrations of your own with your significant other.

There are new outfits, wall and floor designs and a bunch of new items up for grabs, so let's take a look at what you'll be getting.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wedding Season: How to get started on Harv's Island

As soon as you load up the game on June 1, you'll get a call from Harv - the far-out photographer - who needs your help.

Head over to Orville at the airport and ask to fly, then select Harv's Island.

When you land at Harv's Island, you'll be asked to help him set up the room for Reese and Cyrus. If you press down on the D-pad to get a view of the floorplan, you can open the storage box. Here in the Event tab, you'll see a few cool items you can place around the room for the happy couple. You can also add your own furniture if it fits the colours Reese asks for.

Although each item is only listed once in the storage box, you can place multiples of the same piece of furniture. This also goes for your own furniture, even if you only own one piece, you can add as many as you like to the set!

You can set it up whatever way you like, then speak to Reese and you'll be asked to take their picture to complete the quest. You'll receive a Wedding Bench of your own, as well as some Heart Crystals. You can trade these for furniture from Cyrus.

You can return every day to get more Heart Crystals and items from Cyrus. Each day will have a wedding theme and depending on how well you set the room up, you'll receive between five and eleven Heart Crystals per photoshoot.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Heart Crystals for Wedding Season: All the wedding-themed rewards

There are over 20 different items to collect during Wedding Season, which is similar in number to the Easter event rewards. Some of them will likely be craftable and others you'll collect from Cyrus.

A lot of the stuff is very pink but there are colour customisation options, so while it might not be the wedding decor of your dreams, it'll make for a very pretty wedding.

Alongside various decorations and items, there are a few special wedding outfits to choose from and a Wedding wand. The wand you'll receive after completing the final photoshoot.

You'll need to complete between one and seven photoshoots to unlock each item, with the wedding clothes unlocking last.

You'll also receive a commemorative Reese and Cyrus photo plate for all your help.

How to earn the maximum number of Heart Crystals

At the beginning of each photoshoot, Reese will give you a theme for the day. She'll also mention what colour scheme they want you to use, such a pink and white. You can edit an item's colour by selecting it and pressing X to open the customisation screen.

Then, you'll want to place items that match in with the theme. For the wedding reception theme, you'll want to place several wedding tables, as well as chairs and flowers for decoration.

When laying out items using the floor planning view, you can also pick up the couple and your character and move them around the room and onto chairs, and you can either have yourself in the photo or delete your character from the shot.

Changing the lighting and using photo filters - such as black and white or soft - can make an impact on how the couple feels about your photos. Reese will take a look at the last photo out of the bunch, so play around with the lighting and different filters and angles to get the best shot.

Basically, the better your room setup is, the more hearts you'll receive.
