You'll be able to transfer Animal Crossing: New Horizons save data later this week

Nintendo has detailed a number of new additions set for its latest Animal Crossing title.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will be able to transfer their save data to another Nintendo Switch soon.

Nintendo has revealed that users will be able to move their island and residents to a new console as of November 19 as part of a big new update. Other new additions to everyone's favourite cutesy debt accumulation simulation include new content for the upcoming holidays.

On November 26, players will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving – sorry – Turkey Day, while on December 24, there's some special event called Toy Day. No idea what that's a reference to, apologies. Oh, and between December 26 and 31, you'll be able to buy "several festive items" to celebrate New Year's.

This is on top of new reactions and hairstyles for islanders to show off, as well as an upgrade to home storage. Nintendo is also teasing another update scheduled for late January featuring the fan favourite character Pave.

“We’d like to invite everyone to experience the holidays together with family and friends in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, along with your island residents bringing their unique seasonal cheer,” Nintendo of America's SVP of sales and marketing Nick Chavez said.

“We’re eager for everyone to discover all the changes arriving to your islands during this holiday season.”

Earlier in the month, Nintendo revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold more than 14.27m units since its launch in March.
