Angry Birds toys will make $400 million in 2012, says manufacturer

Angry Birds is the craze that will not stop, and Rovio's licensed plush toys will net the studio and the toy manufacturer Commonwealth Toy & Novelty Co around $400 million in 2012 alone.

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Commonwealth's executive vice president, Lisa Shamus explains, "Plush was basically a dead category for the last few years. It is the most spectacular thing I've ever seen in licensing and I've been doing this for 20 years."

Shamus estimates that the firm - which doubled its staff since signign with Rovio in 2010 - will also double sales of Angry Bird plus toys, reaching the $400 million mark.
