Android and Apple gaining on Symbian smartphones in UK

A chart over on comScore shows that Google’s Android platform, along with Apple's iPhone, is gaining on the popular Symbian smartphone market in the UK.

According to the chart, Android claimed a 14.9 percent share of the UK market in October 2010, up from just over 5 percent in May.

iPhone's market share, meanwhile, went from 28.1 percent to 28.6 percent from May to October.

While Nokia’s Symbian is still the leader in the UK market share with 32.2 percent, the smartphone has shown a decline of of 7.5 points since May 2010.

We blame Angry Birds.
