Analytics firm finds half of in-app mobile game revenue comes from .15% of player base

Analytics firm Swrve dug through user data attributed to tens of millions of mobile gamer players and found that half of all in-app mobile game revenue came from .15% of the player base. Around 1.5% of active users didn't purchase microtransactions, and 49% only purchased a single item. The firm reported that 13% only made five or more purchases, with the average in-app purchase coming to $5.94. According to the math, the firm found that 67% of spending was directed at items costing between $1-$5 range. Item which cost $50 or more made up .7% of purchased and accounted for 9% of total revenue. The full report is on VentureBeat. Thanks, GI International.
