If you're a GTA fan from the PS2 era, you may recall reading about the game in the months before release. You may even remember mention of the mysterious Darkel, a crazy bum that was the keeper of unique items rewarded to you after completing his missions.

Darkel was removed from the game shortly before launch but his legacy lives on with people ferreting about in the game's code to find out as much as they can about the elusive figure.

YouTuber Vadim M has gathered up every scrap of Darkel related trivia and compiled it into a nine minute video ready for your perusal above.

He also busts a few myths about supposed Darkel missions that turned out to be fake - like blowing up a bus of school kids, and flying a small plane into a building.

Nevertheless Darkel looked like one crazy S.O.B. It's a shame he didn't make the final cut.
