AMY tech demos show off facial animation

Lexis Numérique is putting some serious technological grunt behind its upcoming downloadable survival horror, AMY.

The two trailers were posted on the US PS Blog, and show off the game's facial animation system. It's quite important for AMY to nail this, as the eponymous character can't speak, and gameplay involves heavy reliance on the little girl's unusual powers. We've seen this tech at least once before.

The characters seen in the video are Father John, a priest who'se convinced the zombie outbreak is a sign of the Armageddon, and Professor Raymond, a character known to protagonist Lana but shrouded in mystery.

Still no release date for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade release, or the PC version expected to follow, but we're probably looking at sometime this month or in October.

Thanks, Joystiq.
