The mysterious Visceral Games Star Wars project lead by former Uncharted main writer Amy Hennig, has been in development for a while, and although we know it's still coming, details of what it actually is are incredibly slim.

EA has not revealed the story, setting, or anything else that could get fans excited. We've only seen a short teaser a year ago, but that's about it.

It now appears a few details about the project have leaked. Making Star Wars is reporting that the game is being referred to as Project Ragtag, and that it takes place between A New Hope, and The Empire Strikes Back.

The main character, played by co-writer Todd Stashwick, is nicknamed 'Dodger'. He's a native of Alderaan, and was given this nickname after he "dodged" draft into Imperial service. This dictated he stays in hiding, which in turn allowed him access to the criminal underworld. After the destruction of his home world, Dodger ends up on a list of the few survivors wanted by the Empire.

The game's story sees Dodger working for Jabba the Hutt to make enough money so that he can bribe Imperial soldiers and take his name off the wanted list. The destruction of the Death Star is said to be a catalyst in the story that changes up the criminal underworld, turning common criminals into heroes.

The main gameplay mechanic is a grapple Dodger can perform with a whip. One move is described as ensnaring enemies with the left hand using the whip/lasso, and finishing them off with a blaster in his right hand. There are different variations of weapons, according to the site, with some coming later as DLC.

EA previously said the project would have a "swashbuckling charm" to it, so we can at least expect something along the lines of Nathan Drake's roguish hero type. This new information is in line with that description, at the very least.

The untitled game is out next year.
