Alone in the Dark and Act of War IP acquired by THQ Nordic

THQ Nordic has finalized its acquisition of Alone in the Dark and Act of War from Atari.

The acquisition of Alone in the Dark and the Act of War IPs were announced today by THQ Nordic. This probably explains the trademark renewal which popped up back in May.

Alone in the Dark is a survival horror title, and the first installment was released in 1992 by Frédérick Raynal and Infogrames.

The last game released in the series was 2015's Alone in the Dark: Illumination, which took the series back to its Lovecraftian roots.

Act of War, the real-time strategy game developed by Eugen Systems, was released in 2005 and the story written by bestselling author Dale Brown.

Information on future plans for either IP were not provided by THQ.
