AirMech, Carbon Game's real-time strategy title, will be making its way to Xbox 360 this summer as a free-to-play game published by Ubisoft.
In a press release sent to VG247, Ubisoft announced that it'll be brining the PC strategy title to Xbox 360 this summer in the form of AirMech: Arena. The game will be a free-to-play, digital download. It supports single-player, multiplayer cooperative and multiplayer competitive gameplay for teams of two to three players, and the developer promises to update the game post launch with content drops that include new AirMechs, units, maps and events.
The game is set in a dystopian future in which players fight for resources using weapons known as AirMechs, giant transforming robots.
"As an indie developer, AirMech has been our passion for the past several years, and we are thrilled to partner with Ubisoft to bring the game to console," said James Green of Carbon Games.
"AirMech Arena was created from the ground up to be the ultimate RTS experience with a gamepad. The fast-paced action and depth of strategy brings console gamers a new experience we are confident they will enjoy," he added.
"We had our eye on AirMech and Carbon Games for quite a while before we approached them, AirMech Arena is a great addition to Ubisoft’s portfolio on console, bringing in competitive framework and strategy games into our strong console digital line-up," said Thomas Painçon, EMEA FTP publishing director at Ubisoft Entertainment.
