Aion re-release coming in September with new expansion

NCsoft has announced plans to re-release Aion in North American and European retailers on September 7 and 10, respectively.

The retail box will contain the original game, and the upcoming free expansion, Assault on Balaurea.

According to the press release, Assault on Balaurea includes a storyline where players actions will determine the fate of the world as they align with others to launch a "massive counter assaults against the invading Balaur on their homeland".

The expansion will include new and updated instances and zones, an increased level cap, new weapons and items, new skills, and added flight mechanics.

Functional pets equipped with in-game benefits will also be introduced in the expansion.

Aion: Assault on Balaurea releases digitally on PC in North America and Europe on September 7.
