Here's a new Agony gameplay video ahead of release next week

First-person horror game Agony is out next week, and the developers have released a rather dark gameplay video.

The latest gameplay video for Agony shows the protagonist going about their day trying to escape Hell, which has been taken over by the mysterious Red Goddess.

Lucifer is apparently on vacation, because this is definitely not the version of hell that's been beat into us by various dogmas or famous artists over the centuries.

Instead, it's super dark in more ways than one. There's no fire, or brimstone - at least in the areas shown - and it plays like a horrible dreamscape of grey and purple with tortured, floating souls.

Unlike the Agony release trailer, this one doesn't feature menacing vaginas, but there is a vulva apple. Hopefully that will suffice.

Don't worry: you'll come into contact with plenty of monsters with hoo-haws for faces, titty demons, and other horrors along the way. That's pretty damn scary if you ask me.

Agony releases May 29 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Mad Mind studio plans to release an optional patch to remove the censorship on PC for those who want an even more horrifying experience.
