Activision wins case against Modernwarfare3.com pranksters

Like Liam Neeson rescuing his daughter with the help of his best pals Fist and Gun, Activision was relentless in its pursuit of its beloved website domain. And you know what that means: mountains of unconscious and/or deadsploded thugs. No wait, the other thing: court cases!

Back in July, Activision took the - in its eyes - unlawful owners of Modernwarfare3.com to court via the National Arbitration Forum. And now, many moons later, it's declaring victory.

In the end, the mega-publisher was asked to provide proof that the prank-driven domain was "confusingly similar" to its own trademark, in addition to its previous owner's lack of interest in legitimate usage of the site. Seeing as it was all a big joke, we doubt that was very difficult.

You can look over the full decision here, in case you're also planning some sort of elaborately choreographed website heist. Oh, sure, you scoff at our suggestion now, but when Big Rigs 2: Under the Road Racing is inevitably announced, we'll see who's laughing. (Hint: It will be everyone.)
