Activision's Vivendi end happy with Infinity Ward "reconstruction"

Vivendi chairman and CEO Jean-Bernard Levy has said the firm has put any concerns it had after the Infinity Ward departures in the past thanks to the grand success of Black Ops.

Speaking at the Morgan Stanley TMT Conference this morning, Levy said he believes the company can replicate this success with Call of Duty titles every year, reports IGN.

"The Treyarch studio, which made this year's game, has done better than what the Infinity Ward studio could achieve a year ago," said Levy. "We have reconstructed Infinity Ward. We have been very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct it.

"We also have a third studio which was created about a year-and-a-half ago called Sledgehammer, which is working on Call of Duty properties. We believe this set up of studios working on Call of Duty has demonstrated it can do very well."

Black Ops broke the record Modern Warfare 2' set at launch buy racking in over $650 million in revenue in only 5 days on the market.

Sledgehammer's COD title is rumored to be a bit of a departure from the series and is slated for the back half of 2011.
