Ace Attorney 5's Heart Scope, 3D clue searches detailed

Capcom Japan has released a pile of new information on Ace Attorney 5, taking particular interest in new protagonist Kizuki Kokone.

According to Siliconera's translation of an update to the Japanese Ace Attorney 5 website, Kokone is the newest member of the Wright Anything Agency. She studied law in the US, struggles withe a tendency to recklessness, hates to lose, and has a special ability which allows her to hear "Heart’s Testimony".

Kokone uses an item called a Heart Scope, which appears as a glowing screen. Players can see and hear emotions from witness testimony, uncovering contradictions and lies, and eventually being rewarded with a new fact for the case. Players will then use this new fact in combination with traditional Ace Attorney skills to solve cases.

The site also offers a few new screens showing of the 3D graphics which replace the franchise's traditional 2D offerings in this entry. As well as looking left and right around rooms and crime scenes, players will be able to look in and under objects; the screens show the player discovering a bomb under a coffee table.

Ace Attorney 5 launches in Japan sometime this year, exclusively for 3DS; a western release has been confirmed but remains undated.
