A Game of Thrones: Genesis to release September 29

Cyanide's RTS adaptation of George RR Martin's best-selling fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire - now a phenomenally popular HBO series - is due before the end of the month.

Gamespot reports the PC-exclusive strategy title drops on September 28.

The game tracks over 1,000 years of Westeros history, allowing for plenty of opportunity for political manoeuvring to see your favourite house on the Iron Throne.

In addition to strategic combat, players need to manage diplomacy - a tricky prospect in the eight-player online multiplayer mode.

Although it doesn't have pricing details, Cyanide confirmed a special edition, featuring two pieces of art, a map, and fancy packaging.
