47 percent of UK devs self-publish, says TIGA

Results of a survey released today and conducted by TIGA show that nearly half of developers based in the UK self-publish their games.

According to the survey, 47 percent of devs who took part like to go it alone out of the 104 developers which were surveyed, 72 percent of which are TIGA members. iPad was the biggest platform in terms of what platform studios are currently working on.

It also noted that 50 percent of developers that took part in the report mentioned that retail was its biggest monetisation method. 47 percent said it sold its games online as well as retail, with Xbox Live Arcade and the App Store being the big choices.

In terms of percentages on those who self-publish, 67 percent are on iPhone, 45 percent on iPad, 41 percent on PC, an even tie on 31 percent between Facebook and PSN, 16 percent on XBLA, 14 percent for other mobile devices - we assume this means Android as such - and 12 percent on WiiWare.
