3DS and Wii U to receive remake of Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes

Nicalis have announced that a remake of the 8-bit homage Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes is in the works for 3DS and Wii U, featuring all new visuals and sound.

Entitled 1001 Spikes, the new version will feature new art, new graphics, new music, and new sound. The remake will also include local multiplayer support for up to four people.

The remake is said to live up to the devilishly hard difficulty of the original and expected to hit the 3DS eShop later this year. The development team are intending to have the Wii U version available upon the console's launch.

Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes was originally released as an Xbox LIVE Indie title by 8bits Fanatics at the start of last year.
