23 Pokemon from the Hoenn region will start appearing today in Pokemon GO, second community event features Dratini

Starting today, 23 Pokemon from the Hoenn region will be added to Pokemon GO.

More Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire will start appearing in Pokemon GO from today.

A slow roll-out of Generation 3 Pokemon in Pokemon GO started in October with the Halloween Event. More were added in December.

Some of the Pokemon have been already been tracked down, and here's the list of confirmed sightings according to the Pokemon GO reddit:

  • Armaldo
  • Aron
  • Baltoy
  • Cacnea
  • Cacturne
  • Camerumpt
  • Claydol
  • Cradilly
  • Lairon
  • Lileep
  • Loudred
  • Nosepass
  • Numel
  • Solrock/Lunatone
  • Trapinch
  • Vibrava
  • Whismur

Torkoal, the Fire-type turtle, was spotted over in India. It's unknown at this time whether the Pokemon is regional or available elsewhere.

A second Pokemon GO Community Day event has also been announced. The first Pokemon GO Community Day was held on January 20. This monthly event provides Pokemon GO players around the globe an opportunity to meet up with other players in their local parks.

The second Pokemon GO Community Day will be held on February 24. Event hours for the various regions are posted below.

  • Asia-Pacific region: January 20 – from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20 – from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland: January 20 – from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)

Pikachu, with the exclusive event move Surf, was the inaugural Pokemon. For the upcoming event, Dragon-type Pokemon Dratini will be the featured creature.

The exclusive move will be announced at a later date.
