Gold Bolts are the main collectible item in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Collecting them will take some looking around, but each one unlocks something to use in the game, be it a new look for items or a game-changing perk.

In this Gold Bolts locations guide we'll detail where to find them all and explain what each collected bolt gives you, including a few cheats.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Gold Bolt Locations

There are 25 gold bolts spread about all the planets in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. We've split the game up into planets, so if you're unsure how to find a certain gold bolt, click on the planet you're stuck on and then navigate to the bolt you haven't found yet.

What Cheats Do Gold Bolts Unlock in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Corson V Gold Bolt Locations

Corson V is the first planet you'll go to in Rift Apart and is home to three gold bolts. The first two listed here are pretty simple to find, but bolt 3 took some finding so don't feel too embarrassed if you struggled to find it too.

Corson V Gold Bolt 1

This Gold Bolt can be found inside a building on the western side of the Corson V map. Once you're inside, head up to the higher level and then use the platforms along the edge to reach the gold bolt.

Corson V Gold Bolt 2

This gold bolt on Corson V might be easy to miss as it's signposted from the moment you reach the main part of the city, but you can't reach it yet. Once you return in a ship head back to where you entered the city and you'll see wall-running panels. Head along here and you'll be able to reach the gold bolt with ease. It's also possible to navigate up to the bolt by climbing up onto platforms, but the wall-running is by far the easier option.

Corson V Gold Bolt 3

As you can see on the map above, this gold bolt on Corson V is just hiding behind some raritanium. In order to get to it you need to head over to where my Ratchet marker is on the map, and head in the direction it's facing. If you go down there you'll come to a rift portal. Use this and then the next rift and you'll reach the gold bolt that seemed impossible to get to.

Sargasso Gold Bolt Locations

Sargasso is a large, open area to explore and will eventually give you a wonderful flying creature to zoom around with. The gold bolts here aren't the hardest to find, but use our guide if you're struggling to find any of the three hidden here.

Sargasso Gold Bolt 1

This gold bolt on Sargasso is pretty easy to get. Head round the side of the building in the map location seen above. From the edge of the platform you should see the rift portal in the screenshot below. Teleport to this and the gold bolt is yours.

This gold bolt on Sargasso is also really easy to find. Head to the map location above and then wander round the back of the large machine to grab the gold bolt.

Sargasso Gold Bolt 3

To get this gold bolt on Sargasso you'll need to be collecting Zurpstones on Trudi's back - Trudi being the flying dragon-like creature that Mort introduces you to. The gold bolt is in the middle of one of the rings (seen above). Simply fly through it and it's yours.

Scarstu Debris Field Gold Bolt Locations

Scarstu is a relatively small area and is mainly the location for the bar area that lets you access the challenges computer terminal. That terminal is how you'll get two of the three gold bolts in Scarstu, but there's also one neatly hidden slightly off the main path through the area.

Scarstu Gold Bolt 1

This gold bolt on Scarstu is easy to get your hands on once you know where to look. Head over to the location on the map above (just over from where your ship is) and you'll see a mag walkway. Use your mag boots to reach the platform next to the gold bolt (highlight the area you want and press circle).

Scarstu Gold Bolt 2

This gold bolt on Scarstu doesn't take much finding, but you will have to complete a challenge from the bar's challenge computer. This can be found through the rift door on the far end of Scarstu. Select the bronze challenges and then scroll until you see the Bugtrax challenge.

We're back at the challenge computer for the third gold bolt on Scarstu. This time you'll need to complete the Pest Control Silver challenge. Do this and you'll get another gold bolt.

Blizar Prime Gold Bolt Locations

Blizar Prime is one of the trickiest areas to find gold bolts in. The bolt listed as Gold Bolt 1 here is the easiest of the three you can find, with the other two needing some neat dimension shifting through the use of Blizon crystals.

This gold bolt on Blizar Prime is easy to find. Head to the location on the map above and you'll see the gold bolt ahead of you. You'll need to work your way around the back of the rock formation to find a way up. If you can't reach this map location you're likely in the wrong dimension and will need to hit a Blizon crystal in order to switch dimensions.

To begin with once you leave your ship, warp to the mining hub. From here you need to hit the Blizon crystal that's more or less directly in front of Rivet (just a touch over to the right as you come out of the warp).

Once you've hit the Blizon you'll see the gold bolt in front of you, but to reach it you'll need to traverse some mag platforms from the location on the map below.

Blizar Prime Gold Bolt 3

This is another gold bolt that needs some Blizon hitting to reach. Initially head to the location above in the darker of the two dimensions.

You'll see that the gold bolt is out of reach, so hit the Blizon in the dark dimension, then walk over to the Blizon in the light dimension. Hit this Blizon and you'll be able to collect the gold bolt.

Torren IV Gold Bolt Locations

Torren IV has one of the easiest gold bolts to find, and also one that's very easy to miss. Use out Torren IV gold bolts locations below to find them both and earn those gold bolt rewards.

This gold bolt on Torren IV is easy to miss as you'll come across the entrance to find it almost immediately after you leave your ship. Head into the cave marked on the map and seen in the image below. Then follow the path to boost and wall-run tot he gold bolt.

The second gold bolt on Torren IV is easy to miss. As you progress through the main story you'll come to a rail section. At a certain point (seen above) you'll see a rift portal and Rivet will mention it. Leap through this and you'll be taken to a rail that you can grind until you pass over a gold bolt.

Cordelion Gold Bolt Locations

Cordelion perhaps delivers the most diverse gold bolt locations. Gold Bolt 1 is pretty easy, but the next two require some sharp eyes and clever use of the Blizon dimension shifting crystals.

Cordelion Gold Bolt 1

This gold bolt on Cordelion isn't hard to get. Just go to the map location above and you'll see a door that you can't get through, but you can use the rift portal to pull yourself through. Do it and the gold bolt is yours.

Cordelion Gold Bolt 2

The map location above shows where this gold bolt on Cordelion is found. It's on a small platform that has a shield around it. In order to disable this shield you'll need to hit a Blizon crystal nearby, then reach the platform. It's worth noting that if you get stuck in this area due to crystal hitting shenanigans, if you deliberately die the game should return you in a state that allows you to progress.

To get this gold bolt on Cordelion you'll need to head out of the air lock and into the water. Once out, head to the location on the map above. Over a small rock formation you'll see a mag wall (as in the image below). Target this and press circle to leap to it. Walk up and the gold bolt is waiting.

Ardolis Gold Bolt Locations

Ardolis only has two gold bolts to find, but the level is one of the trickiest to navigate due to the majority of the area being waterlogged. You'll need to make use of your hover ability and jump on the back of a speetle to reach both of these.

This gold bolt on Ardolis is in the middle of nowhere and can't be reached by platforming. It's location just off the left centre in the image above and to reach it you'll need to ride a speetle through it. There are speetle nests marked on the map, so head to one and then go for the gold bolt.

Ardolis Gold Bolt 2

The second gold bolt on Ardolis is easy enough to spot at the location in the map above. In order to get your hands on it, though, you'll need to interact with the terminal and complete the virus fighting stage as Glitch.

Savali Gold Bolt Locations

Savali is one of the most interesting locations in Rift Apart, with one of the three bolts in particular being the trickiest to find in the game. If you're struggling to figure out how to reach the gold bolt isolated on a unreachable pillar, we've got the info for you below.

Savali Gold Bolt 1

This gold bolt on Savali is another that needs to complete a challenge as Glitch. These are thankfully not that hard, so this gold bolt shouldn't be too problematic to add to your collection.

Savali Gold Bolt 2

This gold bolt on Savali proved to be rather tricky to get. As you move around the bolt seen in the image above you might notice a rift portal. To reach the bolt you need to find the portal that links to this. Head to the map location below, as shown by Ratchet's marker, and you'll be a the start of a hover boots race course. Race through this and hit all the green switches and you'll unlock a portal that will take you straight to the gold bolt.

Savali Gold Bolt 3

This gold bolt on Savali is on the back on the moving platform you can see in the image above. Its location is seen below, but as soon as you get close to it the platform will zoom away. Use your hover boots to keep pace, cutting it off and then grappling onto it. Walk over the button switch and the shield around the bolt will be removed.

Viceron Gold Bolt Locations

Prison planet Viceron is home to three gold bolts, with some of them requiring you to progress through the level a certain amount before you can reach them. We've explained all you need to know below.

This gold bolt on Viceron isn't hard to find. Head to the location on the map above and work your way round through the door in the screenshot below. Do this and you'll have another gold bolt.

This gold bolt on Viceron is easy to find. Head to the map location above and then jump onto and over the prison cells in the image below.

The third gold bolt on Viceron is a little awkward to find, mainly because you'll come across it without being able to get it at first. It's located in the area seen in the map above and the screen below, but you'll need to grab it when you return to this area following a prison outbreak. The cells will be open and you can loot them all.

What Do Gold Bolts Unlock in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - Cheats for Infinite Ammo and Health

It doesn't matter what gold bolt you find, the rewards are unlocked sequentially, with the best rewards coming when you tick off the final few of the 25 bolts available. Here is the full list of gold bolt perks/unlocks so you can decide if it's worth going for the full set or not. Of most interest may well be the latter gold bolt unlocks, which include cheats for infinite ammo and infinite health.
