Apex Legends developer Respawn is currently building a new IP "from scratch"

That's the official word from the developer.

Apex Legends and Titanfall studio Respawn Entertainment is working on a new IP.

According to a tweet from Respawn programmer Steven Kah Hien Wong, the game is in the early stages, and the current team is very small. The studio is looking to hire a coder.

The tweet was retweeted by Respawn boss Vince Zampella who said the new project was "super exciting stuff."

New IP means this particular team isn't working on the Titanfall or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order IPs, obviously. Plus, about a year ago, Zampella confirmed that there are currently no Titanfall games in development. Whether things have changed or not remains to be seen.

Further details on the new project were not provided, and whether this is the same game the team was hiring for a few months back is also not known, but it's a probability.

Respawn is currently busy with Apex Legends and is getting ready to launch Season 9 of the game. You can expect the new Legend Valkyrie, a new weapon called the Bockek Bow, and an infestation taking place over Olympus.

Apex Legends: Legacy will launch on May 4 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam.
