Age of Empires 2 and 3 Definitive Editions are getting updates

During the Age of Empires update today, Microsoft and Relic announced new content for Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition.

According to Relic, a second expansion called Dawn of the Dukes is coming to Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition this summer. It takes players to Eastern Europe with new campaigns and much more. Later this year the game will also get co-op historical battles with hand-picked and specific missions to play with friends.

Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition will receive a free update on April 13.  It will feature the US civilization with a new explorer and nine new units alongside an age-up mechanic. You can also expect a new home city.

It will be a free update for a limited time for those who complete a 50 State Challenge. All you have to do is complete three challenges per day and unlock the civ on the completion of the last challenge. Alternatively, the US civilization can also be purchased directly via Steam or the Windows Store for $4.99 or the regional equivalent.

African civs are also coming with another expansion with more details to be announced at a later date.

During the reveal, a look at Age of Empires 4 gameplay was also shown.
