Ghost of Tsushima film in the works with John Wick's Chad Stahelski directing

Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions are developing a film based on the hit video game Ghost of Tsushima.

According to Deadline, the film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima will be directed by John Wick's Chad Stahelski.

Stahelski, Alex Young, and Jason Spitz are producing through 87Eleven Entertainment. PlayStation Productions' Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will produce, and Sucker Punch Productions will serve as Executive Producers.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen," said Qizilbash. "We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences.”

Sony is super busy with adaptations at the moment: there's the Uncharted film coming next year, and the HBO series based on The Last of Us in the works.

The Sucker Punch game has sold 6.5 million copies since its July 2020 release, according to Sony. Within three days on sale, it managed to sell more than 2.4 million units around the world, making it the PS4’s fastest-selling first-party IP debut. By November 2020, the game had sold over 5 million copies.
