Microsoft says "some" new Bethesda titles in the future "will be exclusive to Xbox and PC"

Microsoft has officially welcomed Bethesda into the fold.

In a post on Xbox Wire, Xbox boss Phil Spencer officially welcomed Zenimax Media, which houses Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios.

Spencer called it the "next step in building an industry-leading first-party studios team," and noted it is "vitally important" that Bethesda continues to make games "the way it always has."

That said, he did reiterate that with the addition of the Bethesda teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including "some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players."

Note, Spencer did not say all future Bethesda games would only be coming to PC and Xbox, but we may hear more about that later this week.

It was previously stated by Spencer that all current project exclusives will be honored, such as those for Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Again, it's worth noting that Spencer said "some" news titles would be exclusive to PC and Xbox - not all. But it still remains to be seen whether the long in development Starfield which we have seen virtually nothing of, really, will be exclusive or not. And then there's the Elder Scrolls 6 which is a long way off. But even Bethesda's Todd Howard said previously it was “hard to imagine” the game not being released on PlayStation, news of which even Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan is keen to hear news on.
