Previous seasons in The Division 2 will be re-run until new mode releases in late 2021

The Division 2 has 40 million players, and these players can expect a new mode coming to the game later this year.

According to Ubisoft Massive, The Division 2 players will be getting a new mode in the next major update and it will be entirely new to the franchise.

Along with the game mode, the team is "investigating new ways to progress" your agent with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability.

"The development of this new update is still in its early stages and will take several months to complete," reads the blog post. "As a result, our next major update is currently scheduled for release late 2021 at the earliest. We will be taking this time to make sure we bring a meaningful change to the game."

While the team is working on the next content update, previous seasons will be re-run. These will be seasons released during Year 2. So, during Season 5, you can expect it to be a re-run of Season 1. This way, you will be able to earn rewards and collectibles that you missed out on.

Along with the re-running of seasons, the team will continue to "support the game with new Apparel Events and some minor Title Updates focused on game health."
