You can now Remote Play Together with anyone, even without a Steam account

Steam's Remote Play Together has received a killer new feature.

Valve has rolled out a new beta update for Steam. The release's biggest addition comes to Remote Play Together, the feature that allows playing local co-op games online, even if the games don't natively support online play.

This big release makes it possible for owners of any game that supports Remote Play Together to invite even non-Steam users to play. Steam now creates a session link, viewable in the friends list, which can be shared with anyone. All they need to do afterwards is to simply click it to join the session, without having to create a Steam account.

Those invited will still need to install Steam on PC, or Steam Link on iOS and Android, as the app is needed to handle the process.

As with all beta features on Steam, anyone can opt into the beta through the desktop client to try them. Usually, they spend a couple of weeks in testing before the live client gets them.
