Star Wars Republic Commando is coming to PS4 and Switch

Star Wars Republic Commando is making a comeback soon.

Aspyr has today confirmed that it's bringing back the classic squad-based Star Wars shooter, Star Wars Republic Commando, confirming the leak from earlier this month. Republic Commando comes to PS4 and Switch April 6.

Star Wars Republic Commando is a first-person shooter taking place in the Clone Wars. You take command of Delta Squad, an elite group of, well, Commandos for the Galactic Republic. The game lets you dictate the team's moves as you tactically navigate its various treacherous worlds.

Republic Commando's squad mechanics were unique in 2005 when the original game released, offering a level of complexity other squad-based shooters lacked.

The package includes the single-player campaign, featuring modernised controls, but barely any visual upgrades, though it does have the modest price of $15.
