Collect all 150 original Pokemon from the Kanto region in this Pokemon Go event

By Stephany Nunneley, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 17:06 GMT

Next year marks both Pokemon’s anniversary and Pokemon Go’s fifth anniversary, and to celebrate, Niantic has announced a virtual, ticketed event that Trainers all around the globe will be able to take part in.

In the ticketed version of this Pokemon Go event, you’ll choose between the Red Version or Green Version of the event, and each will feature version-exclusive Pokemon.

You will be completing event-exclusive Special Research, and testing your Pokemon-collection skills, and trading with a friend who can choose the other version will be important, just like it was in Red and Green.

During the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto, the first 150 Pokemon originally discovered in this region will be available as Shiny Polemon – some for the first time ever. You will be able to encounter these Pokemon after the event is over.

After completing Special Research, Trainers will receive a second event-exclusive Special Research line. Overcoming challenges and tasks will be required to complete it, but you will end up discovering a Shiny Mew.

Tickets for the event are available in the in-app shop now, and if you purchase a ticket by a certain date, you’ll also receive tickets for the Special Research stories for the January and February Community Day events. If you choose not to purchase a ticket, there’ll still be features for you during the event.

More details for the event as posted below, courtesy of Niantic.
