Witcher voice actor Cockle isn't appearing in Cyberpunk 2077

The man behind Geralt of Rivia's husky tones hasn't been asked to work on CD Projekt's upcoming RPG.

Polish studio CD Projekt is trying to keep a lid on what goes on in Cyberpunk 2077, but we know one thing for sure.

The voice of The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia, Doug Cockle, is not going to be making a cameo in the studio's latest release. Speaking to Eurogamer, the voice actor confirmed that he hasn't had any involvement in the project.

"Sadly, I haven't had any involvement with Cyberpunk thus far," he said. "It was mentioned long ago but [CDPR] hasn't brought me in for anything. I'm kinda sad about it actually!

"Oh well," he added. "Maybe in the future..."

In the past, Cockle had expressed an interest in appearing in Cyberpunk 2077, but has said before that CD Projekt hadn't contacted him for any work on the game. He has also said he'd love to work on Sony and Naughty Dogs' Uncharted franchise.

Cockle played Geralt in all three Witcher games and his voice has also appeared in the likes of TimeSplitters 2, RuneScape and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on December 10 following another delay. CD Projekt has insisted that the game isn't going to be pushed back again.

The Polish studio is trying to keep tight control on spoilers for the sci-fi RPG, asking content creators to not post streams or let's plays until December 9.

The Matrix and John Wick star Keanu Reeves, who appears in Cyberpunk 2077, has played the game and apparently loves it. So that's something.
