Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 5 - How to talk to characters and pick up Bounties

Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 5 is finally here and there's a host of new challenges for you to complete.

You'll need to stop folk trying to escape The Loop in Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 5 but before you do any of that, you'll need to try out a new feature to complete some of this week's challenges by talking to a character.

This is an entirely new feature in Fortnite as the closest you previously got to talking to a character was screaming at your pals over a headset in voice chat.

To get started, you'll need to discover five named locations around the map for Lexa before the talk to a character challenge unlocks. Afterwards, check your map for square speech bubbles that indicate a character is nearby.

There are around 40 characters available to talk to in Fortnite and they'll have a little speech-bubble above their heads. You can find at least one in each named location and point of interest, and once you've had a chat with them, they'll give out Bounties which you can complete during a match.

You'll need to complete five Bounties and speak to three Characters as part of the Week 1 challenges, so jump in and get chatting. Bounties range from eliminating players to using specific weapons for kills, so pick whatever you like.

If you find that this challenge doesn't auto-complete after speaking with an NPC, logout and close the game before trying again. You can check out what's in the new Battle Pass here, alongside all the latest map changes.

Fortnite is now available on the Xbox Series X and PS5 next week and you can check out all the next-gen improvements here.
