New Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit trailer offers a closer look at how the game actually works

Nintendo has released a new, extended trailer for Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, ahead of the game's release on Nintendo Switch on October 16.

The new trailer shows off a few more features in the curious game, particularly detailing how the kit itself works, and how you can customize tracks to fit in your own home.

In order to play the game effectively, Nintendo recommends you have an area of about 12' x 10' available to you. You will need to place down four gates and drive through them in order to create a course for yourself and others to play in.

Once you're all set up, you can start playing through the game's main mode: Grand Prix. As with previous Mario Kart titles, the difficulty is determined via classes from 50cc through to 200cc, and you can play through eight cups and take part in 24 different races.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit also comes loaded with options for custom races, time trials, and a mirror mode.

Check out the trailer above to see this curious take on the long-running franchise in action, and check the video below for some Velan Studios insight into the tech behind the game.
