Capcom "looking into" bringing Resident Evil Village to PS4 and Xbox One

During TGS 2020, Capcom said it was "looking into" bringing Resident Evil Village to PS4 and Xbox One.

According to the stream, the company is considering releasing Resident Evil Village on current-gen, but can't "promise anything," as it's being developed with next-gen in mind.

"While Resident Evil Village is being developed specifically for next-generation consoles and PC, we're looking into Xbox One and PS4 as well," said producer Tsuyoshi Kanda.

"We're looking into it, but we can't make any promises. However, we will do our best in creating a top-tier survival horror experience on current generation consoles."

At least it's being looked into.

Capcom also released a new developer diary, which provides a bit of insight into what the developers are aiming for with the latest game in the series. It's below.

As previously revealed, the story takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7, with Ethan and his wife, Mia, in some sort of trouble as the village in the game is hiding a dark secret.

The game is out in 2021 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
