Xbox Series X and Series S demand has been "record breaking," more units to be available at launch

The anticipation for Xbox Series X and Series S pre-orders has evidently been high.

Hours after Xbox Series X and Series S pre-orders went live, the consoles were sold out everywhere. Though the experience overall was better than PS5's online stampede, demand nonetheless caused sites like GameStop to crash, where customers reported various errors on Target and Walmart's websites.

Unsurprisingly, Xbox Series X currently occupies the top spot on Amazon's movers and shakers list across the US and UK.

According to Microsoft, the demand has been unprecedented. The company said so in a Tweet, but didn't reveal any hard numbers. The good news is that more consoles will be available at launch on November 10.

"We are humbled by the record-breaking demand for Xbox Series X and S. Huge thanks to everyone for the excitement," said Microsoft.
