Just Cause 3 dev Avalanche hiring for "the largest and greatest AAA project we’ve ever taken on"

Avalanche Studios is expanding, and the developer seems very excited about its new project.

Avalanche Studios' New York team, the one responsible for Just Cause 3, is on a bit of a hiring spree. The studio is looking for a wide range of disciplines to work on what it described as "the largest and greatest AAA project we’ve ever taken on."

As noted by @MauroNL3 on Twitter, the jobs ask for experience with open-world games, which isn't particularly surprising given the studio's history.

There does appear to be a greater focus on animation this time around, with the gameplay animation programmer role specifically stating that the team intends to "push animation quality a lot further than we have done previously." An animation programmer would help revamp existing tools, or create a new animation pipeline.

It is possible, of course, that Avalanche NYC is working on the next Just Cause, and the studio simply decided to leave the project name out so as not to leak any information. The other likely scenario is that there's a bigger, different game in the works, possibly with another publisher.

Whatever it is, it sounds very early, given the nature of positions the studio wants to fill.
